  • Render - Wrong output format

Hi Everyone, Im new here !

First, I would like to say that Im a real beginner with 3DS Max.

I'm trying to render a plan view with a dome camera. When I'm in the camera viewport the format looks correct, but when I run the render the format is wrong. Could you help me please ?

Take a look at the attached pics !

Please note, I haven't worked on the materials yet, I'm trying to get a render first...

Thank you again for your help !

The dome camera creates a distorted image, so your render is correct.
If what you want is to create a standard plan image then all you need is a standard vray camera pointing down, unless I've misunderstood what you are trying to achieve.

Ah ok, I thought that would give me an image similar to the viewport of the dome camera...

In fact, I'm looking to reproduce a 3d plan view similar to the attached image.

      THANKS !!!

No problem, all you need is a standard camera for such a view.
And have fun learning Max...it's a lot easier these days

Ok Thank you very much !

Are there any particular parameters to set so that it does not give the impression of being a 2D rendering floor plan ?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but the example you posted is what you would get with pretty much default settings
of a Vray camera, so the FOV creating the top down perspective. Try it out and you see
