  • Vraysky viewport 2022.2 missing

It’s been a very long time since I used vray So I don’t know if this is something new or a bug, but I can’t get vraysky in the max viewport to work.
I thought it used to and would also change depending on the sun position but maybe that’s just my imagination coming back from Octane.

it works fine when rendering but would be nice to see it within my scenes. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

I know you can use IPR (also new to me) but it’s laggy when I’m modeling. Thanks for any tips or suggestions. I tried searching the forum and only found an older post for 2020.2.

Yes, it's not yet implemented for newer 3ds Max versions. We already have an improvement request logged (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-9023). I'll add a request on your behalf to it.

        Charles, hello!
You can get the sky back right now if you revert max to the old direct3d viewport drivers (and then press ctrl+alt+shift+b to refresh the background...).
So long as you're modelling, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
You're likely much better off to revert to the current nitrous dx11 driver when you're doing scene assembly (more triangles), or would like to see a more accurate representation of your scene (i.e. with shadows, AO and so on).

        Glad to have you back!
