  • Missing Material/Map - Any way to determine what is missing?

I'm in the middle of a project and I picked up SigersShaders only to find out that a bunch of materials are not properly showing:

"Missing Material/Map This class does not have an implementation supplied by any of the currently loaded DLLs."

Is there any way (such as a script) to determine which material type is missing or no longer supported?
This appears to happen frequently at the bottom with VRayBlendMtls including some of the older shaders I have been converting back over going back quite a few years so it's not just his libraries.
I'm wondering if there's any way to figure out which ones are missing so they can be recreated.

I reached out to him Siger but haven't heard back. Hoping someone else might have an answer here. Thanks!

In case this helps anyone else I just did some more digging and on his website it specifically states that he uses some custom plugins which are not supported by GPU rendering under VRay.
    That's pretty unfortunate.

But it still would be great if there's a way for me to figure this out for some of my older scenes and materials.

Update #2: he reached back to me and said that error could be ignored as it related to older Mental Ray support by Max. I discovered you can nuke that warning/error message by running the Prune Scene script for Missing plugins.
Main issue appears to not be missing DLL related but unsupported material (VRayblendMtl) by Vantage.

HI so is this your issue then? You have unsupported materials in Vantage?

I thought the material issue I ran into was caused by a missing plugin.
Author informed me it was a leftover message from Mental Ray but didn't know this because the Max warning is generic (I was trying to find out which missing plugin was causing this and didn't know if there was a way.)

The material even with the error works in regular VRay rendering and GPU.
The underlying issue turned out to be that VrayBlendMtl is not supported by Vantage currently and I see is in the list of features they are working on.

If it's an unsupported material in vantage, it shouldn't result in anything odd on the side of Max.
If you have a missing class material, you may find out with scripting.
The class won't exist, but the class name should still be readable.
If it's still an issue to you, please shoot me an email with the attached scene (a part of it with the missing stuff will be enough) and i'll try and find out.
