    Hello!

    bumped into a very weird bug and it seems to happen only on one set of objects in the scene (although i cant check every other object using thin option)

    The problem is that when i render with IPR and setup all the materials to my liking to have nice translucent leaves, the final render then looks very different regardless if i render progressive or bucket.

    Ive attached samples for your inspection and uploaded the scene and sent to support email...to reproduce simply render in IPR and then render the sama as you would for final.

    Ive tried various approaches to debug this like removed the forest color from equation, created fresh unique material for all the trees etc but nothing helps.

    The final render always lack the translucent part or looks like itc not receiving direct rays on leaves.

    Unsure but this is very unfortunate as this bug comes in time when i have to finalize the project.

    I would have accepted slight difference in rendergin between IPR and final render but this is obviously a bug.

    Tried latest stable nightly but no luck trere.

    Could you please help?

    Hi I think you hit a bug that has been discussed here.

    It is not mentioned in the thread but we also had a ticket with the same bug and the user had the similar effect - foliage is ok in IPR but not in production.

    The bug is reported and scheduled for fixing under VMAX-12007.

      Ooops OK
      so is there any quick workaround? Or does it mean i will have to suck it up and render the finals under IPR??
      Is there any way how i can force IPR settings to follow settgins i woudl normally have in final render? mainly noise threshold, sampler settings and GI solver method? i was gonna render with BF/BF...i also need to bump up the LC so that i can render hires images.

        I think the workaround was to unhide the forest_templates layer and enable rendering for it. So the instanced geometry has to be visible and tenderable. You can move it out of camera view.

            That's a weird bug LOL...the workaround is simple so it's like the code is being a bastard just for the hell of it :P
