  • VrayOverrideMtl strange behavior

    Hi,
I get some strange behavior when I put 2 different glass materials into a VrayOverrideMtl. It's as if the index of refraction value changes drastically. When I use the materials separately (outside of VrayOverrideMtl), they refract fine. Please find attached a video and a simple scene that demonstrates this.

The problem is you're misusing the VRayOverrideMtl. Since the glass is two-sided, the inner plane is seen as if through refraction, which triggers the effect. Setting both shaders to "Thin-walled" should resolve the issue. What exactly are you trying to achieve? Maybe a VRaySwitchMtl will be of use?

Oh, I see. I was trying to make glass that appears very reflective, but allows more light to pass through. I will try the "thin walled" option. Thanks!
