  • How to exclude certain materials from being visible on the back side of the refraction

I assume that Headline text might be confusing, so I added a picture below to illustrate what I'm trying to remove. I have a main material which is refraction (full white) with IOR 1.01. There is a simple reveal effect happens, glow material appears(tyflow mesher) and followed up with black/dark grey simple material. Problem is that I don't want to see glow and black on back side of the model which is occluded from camera. In the old Mental Ray I recall I dealt with similar issue by using what was called "cut out" or "cut off". I've tried doing same with vray mtl in the option section but it does not seem to work. Anyone has a solution?

Hi you can try to turn off double sided and see if this works in your case.

      Hi,

Ye, I've tried that. I've tried the entire option section. The only thing that that got close to helping me was to increase cutoff to 1.0, it turned all the refcraftion material into solid black(can be removed in post). I'm hoping to find a solution, of keeping both the visibility of the refraction and disable visibility of secondary material on the back.
