Caustic calculation

Same scene in two different computers, AMD 3970X for the calculation only uses 64%, the intel 7980XE uses 100%.
In render both use 100%.
It is normal?
Something that is not properly enabled in the AMD?

Just number of cores and processor design, i'd say.
I think the caustics use at most 32 threads, so the Intel masks it with the uneven per-core usage, while AMD uses less cores (virtual.).
