  • Rendering viewport without GI and without any lights

If memory serves me right, you used to be able to render a preview of the viewport without any lights by simply turning off the GI... many versions ago. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Does anyone know why and how to achieve a similar result in V-Ray 5?

VRayAmbientLight. with VRayDirt texture set to env occlusion for example.

I've used VRayAmbientLight as a workaround for this purpose before, but it's still not the same

does it need to be rendered through vray? maybe just grab viewport option in max?

Enable "Default Lights" in the Global switches tab of the Render settings?
