  • Vray clipper not clipping

I'm using Vray 5.20.23, when I clip through this house I'm working on several elements don't get clipped. In the attached image you can see several of them, I know the black rectangles that are floating are glass panes with a vray glass material assigned. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it, I have about 10 rooms I need to clip and it's happening in all of them.

One other small piece of information, the model was created in Sketchup and the panes of glass are planes not boxes.

I suspect that your clipping plan is on the same plane as those three objects. move the clipper away by a few millimeters.

Unfortunately that's not the problem, I've already tried that.

Here's another example, this is the same model but a different camera and I've applied a single material to everything. The black grid circled in red shouldn't be there because it's inside the clipping plane.

Maybe the shader applied to them is single-sided? And what we're seeing is the backface? If not, attach a simple version of the scene so we can take a look.

Maybe try to raise transparency levels in render settings.

We have received and tested the file, so here is an update.
In this case the problem is caused by single-polygon geometry without corresponding back faces; it is a known issue logged as VMAX-12425 for improvement and described in docs: "VRayClipper works best with "closed" objects that have a corresponding back face. The results on open objects (without a corresponding back face) are not well defined."
The best practice is to model closed geometry or to apply Shell modifier to single-polygon geometry.
