  • Point clouds not rendering correctly in VRay6

I have a scene with a point cloud loaded in 3ds Max 2023. With VRay6, the point cloud renders as completely black.

Same scene, saved as a 3ds Max 2022 file and rendered with VRay 5 Update 2.1 renders correctly, displaying the color information of the point cloud.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Just to recap, as far as I and nataylor were able to test the issue has something to do with the scene. I tested the rcp file in a new scene and everything worked.

I'm having the same issue as the OP.
Opened a scene in 3dsMax 2023 with VRay 6 and it renders black. Works fine in 2022 with Vray 5.2.
Seems to be an issue with the PointCloudColor Map in Vray 6: it applies a black texture to the rcp. This is also the case in a new scene setup.
