  • chaos_networking error

    Hello,

We ran into a small issue with some of our nodes. They couldn't render via command line.
The error popup message below appears when opening 3ds Max 2023.1, with Vray 6.00.04 (Stable):

    Code:
    ---------------------------
    V-Ray
    ---------------------------
    An error occurred during initialization:

    chaos_networking: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Max 2023\bin\networking is not a valid directory

It is recommended that you exit the application and reinstall V-Ray now
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------
Manually creating the directory "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Max 2023\bin\networking" solves the issue and they can render normally.

Note that most computers could render without this folder created and uninstalling / reinstalling Vray couldn't solve the problem.

Thanks for your hard work and for the great update!
    Jo.

For recent 3ds Max versions it should be here:
      Code:
      C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\VRay3dsMax2025\bin\networking

Hmm, Im using arbitrary installation so this path is empty for me. But in my server dir path there is only file called chaos_cacert.pem with some certificates inside, but not chaos_networking path definition.

You do it, I'll assign them to it afterward.
