  • Error parsing user attributes

    Hi,
we just upgraded to Vray 6, and keep getting these errors showing in the log. Have no clue what they are about, but the scene renders fine regardless.
Though everything seems to work just fine, it's now happening quite often that the render just hangs, and it's impossible to either stop or cancel. The only way it's to shut Max down from task manager.
Don't know if the two things are related, but maybe they are?
I'm attaching a screen grab of the log, so you can see what errors I'm talking about.
    Cheers

Hi these are not errors but warnings.

    Taken from Autodesk help page:

A custom attribute is an additional, abstract parameter; abstract in the sense that it does not directly extend the functionality of the object by default. It affects an object only after wire parameters, reaction controllers, or expression controllers are set up to connect the custom attribute to another parameter in the scene. You can also use custom attributes to store job-specific notes and data.
V-Ray can use these attributes (that can be found under object properties) for various tasks.

Probably you are using a value or expression that is not supported.

Yes, you're right. So I guess the two things are not related, and the fact that the render hangs and can't be stopped, doesn't have anything to do with it.

If the user property is invalid, it's skipped.
That doesn't mean bad things won't happen, as the v-ray properties are stored into the node's user properties buffer.
If you have a scene (or a part of it) showing the issues (either would do.), we'd be glad to take a look at it.

had to go back to Vray 5 for the time being, because we were having problems with other plugins and had to finish in a hurry these batch of images we were working on.

I'll get back to 6 as soon as I can, and let you know if the problem presists.

          Cheers
