  • HELP: Vray Toon Limited Outline - Line Drawing Rendering

    Hi,

Can someone help me on how to achieve a detailed outline using vray toon? it seems that vray toon is view dependent and cant get all the outline details to produce a line drawing.

    Many thanks,
    James

Hi James. Are you using the pixel or world units for line width? If you are using pixel it shouldn't be dependent on the view.

      Hi Vladimir,

Yes, im using the pixel for line width. The goal is to have a thin line width with visible detailed outline. in this case, I have to make the line width thicker so that teh detailed lines will be visible.
Do you have any suggestions on how can I attain our goal?

The thing is that your reference seems to be a CAD model, where the clear lines are simply the wireframe nurbs.
Toon will rely on normals, so you'll only get what you are after if the model has sharp enough edges.
So, depending on how you built yours, you could extract mesh loops to describe the shape and render those.
