  • VFB- LightMix- Select Lights in Scene Should Select Just One Instance

Thank you so much for adding the right-click Select Lights in Scene to LightMix!

One small issue. When you select an instance ideally this would give you an option to select just one instance (for quick selection and editing), or to select all instances. However, when this feature selects multiple lights it is VERY slow. I think it is updating between each selection, rather than holding updates and selecting the entire list at once.

I guess if it could select all instances really quickly then perhaps selecting just one would not be required.

    Anyway, great feature! Thanks again.

EDIT: It probably should select all instances, but it should do it faster!

Oh, and you know what would make an AWESOME addition to that little right-click menu??? The ability to rename a light from right there in LightMix. So often I just throw lights around when I am setting up, and then go back and name them afterwards, but I use LightMix to figure out what is what. If we could rename the lights from right there it would be amazing (or even by clicking on the name in LightMix itself-- just make that name field editable).

One more thing... It would be great it LightMix could keep track of lights by their node handle rather than by name. Right now if you make some tweaks in LightMix and then rename a light you can't apply those changes to scene anymore...

This depends on the VRayLightMix "Group by" mode.

You're right, it is. Maybe we can improve this.

Good point, I'll share the suggestion with the devs.

I presume this would work only when you send changes "to scene".

EDIT: FYI, I've logged an improvement request (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-12480).

          Sounds good

Probably for consistency, though it would be nice to be able to apply the rename and the settings separately.
