  • Clouds cast shadows when "Ground shadows" is turned off

I have a scene where changing the "Offset X" or "Offset Y" parameters sometimes makes V-Ray cast shadows even though "Ground shadows" is turned off. Please see the screenshot below. I'm using the latest version of V-Ray in Max 2022.

HI I ran a test with your settings but ground shadows turn off as expected? I am testing in 3ds max 202 though. I will test in 2023 as well. Have you tried a new simple scene?

That exterior scene was made in Max 2022.
BTW, I did a test in a simple scene and I see the same problem - certain offset values make the direct sun rays disappear:

When "ground shadows" is off, the sun is shadowed or not everywhere depending on whether the camera is in shadow or not. It is not a "cast shadows" on/off switch.

        Best regards,
