Enmesh + VrayEdgesTex in bump + planar UVW = massive slowdown during light cache calc

  • Enmesh + VrayEdgesTex in bump + planar UVW = massive slowdown during light cache calc

    Title says it all. I think vray is having a really hard time calculating vertical surfaces that aren't mapped 'correctly'.
    Disabling map in the bump slot clears the slowdown.

    Vray 6 hotfix 3. Max 2023.2.2

    Hi why would you want to have a planar mapping on a non-planar object?

      I don't, but this is how I isolated the problem to make it easier for chaos to diagnose.

        Thanks for the scene, this will be very helpful to trouble-shoot the problem. In general Enmesh does expect "good" UV coordinates but maybe there is a way to avoid the slowdown.
