  • vray crashes when using vray proxy with a vraymultisubtex

hello, I am trying to render a speedtree that has been vray proxied and is using a vraymultisubtex in the diffuse channel of the vray material. I am using a Vray physical camera and when I render with motion blur turned on the scene crashes on me. however if I turn motion blur off the scene renders perfectly fine. If I bypass the vraymultisubtex with motion blur turned on then the scene renders fine and does not crash. I am using vray 6 hotfix3 and 3dsmax 2022 on windows.

I could not find anywhere else on the forum or online where this has occured so am posting this here in the hopes that someone can help me as I am trying to render my scene with motion blur.

    Thank you!

    Cheers! Christian

Must be something specific. Could you attach (or send) the scene so we can take a look?

      I have the same problem.
      Vray 6 hotfix 3, max 2020.
Motion blur with a material that has VrayMultiSubTex.

It crashes as soon as the lightcache calculations start.

Thanks for the provided scene. It does not crash on my end. Which V-Ray version do you have installed? Sending a crash dump file (which should be located in your temp folder and called 3dsmax_minidump.dmp) will be useful as well.

Really ? what version did you use and computer ?

I tried on 2 different computers both running windows 10, with max 2020 and 2023, Vray 6 hotfix 3

              Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 v3 @ 2.30GHz 2.29 GHz (2 processors), 128GB ram
              And
              AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz, 128GB ram

In both cases crashes the same way

Just uploaded the max2023 minidump file

Pardon me, it does crash. However, it seems to be fixed in the stable builds. Update and try again.
