  • Sharp lighting artefact from Vray sphere light

    Hello, everyone!

Currently, I'm having an issue with Vray for CPU.
As you can see from the image the sphere light is casting sharp lighting which is not normal behavior. Also, it is important to know that I don't have this issue rendering with the GPU.
I haven't tweaked any default settings and the problem persists with every light source in the scene. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this? Thanks.

Could you attach (or send) the scene so we can take a look? Mention your 3ds max and V-Ray versions as well.

        Hello there,

The behavior that you are observing is caused by the Sampling/Cutoff multiplier in the VRayLight settings. By default that number is 0,001, if you lower the value you will observe light with a sharp cast edge.

If we are using V-Ray 6 GPU as a render engine, this option is locked and it doesn't affect the render.
