  • Different lighness between vray3.7 and vray6

    Dear Folks,

i need a identical lighning with my old scenes.

    I updated from vray 3.7 to vray6.
The problem is, that the renderings with vray6 clearly have a different lighness than the results with vray3.7. Only scene open and click render.
I have to render only a part of a sequence of an animation and the different lightness is obvious.
I have also a series of product renderings and the lighning must be identical - taht is not possible.
The only solution is to re-install vray3.7 to fixing this different lighness.

Is there a checkbox, adjustment or an other solution than the re-install v3.7 to fix this problem?

Hi thanks for posting. V-Ray 3.7 is a very old version of the software. Trough all those years there are a lot of features added and upgrades done to V-Ray up until the current version 6.

Here are some of the major ones:
    • Adaptive lights
    • Consistent render elements
    • Reflection glossiness
    • Removed High Glossiness parameter
    • V-Ray Lights: Affect Reflection/Specular behaves in a different way.
    • Additive invisible lights
    • Support for multiple V-Ray Dome lights
    • Adaptive dome light

There is no one click solution, checkbox or anything like that.
If you'd like we can review your scene and try to edit it in an attempt to bring the results closer.
Considering it is an animation makes this task next to impossible.
