  • Layer Adjustments (Hue/Sat with Cryptomatte) inconsistently working with geometry on/off

I've got a simple scene, open plan area, lit by a simple dome light.

I've got no ceiling, just two walls, and a floor and some construction products (flooring).

I applied Hue/Sat with Cryptomatte on the walls/floor and floor joists - renders just as I like it.

I then hide a couple of simple items and unhide another couple of simple items and my Cryptomatted Layer Adjustments are not being applied.....

    How?

I cannot give the client two images with inconsistent looking walls and floors/floor joists.

And this is not an issue regarding color bleeding etc - it's a Layer Adjustment / Cryptomatte issue (it appears).

I'm on V-Ray 5 the 3.2 and this is GPU rendering.

Tried merging into an empty new scene - made no difference....

Instead of creating, I was program solving - got nothing done.....

Okay, this happens only in GPU rendering, not in CPU rendering.

I guess Chaos don't support questions relating to previous versions of software bugs?

My concern is will this still be an issue if I upgrade to V-Ray 6

Okay, I purchased V-Ray 6 and this still happens.

      What do I now do?

      Open a support ticket?

Maybe I don't understand how Cryptomattes work but surely if I all have is 2 walls and a floor, and I have a sofa in the middle of an empty room but I have applied Cryptomatted Layer Adjustments to the walls, when I swap out the sofa for a table, the walls should still have their cryptomatted layer adjustments applied?

This is ONLY happening in GPU rendering.

Are you re-rendering after unhinding geometry? I can't seem to reproduce the issue. Please provide a video reproduction if possible.

          Sorry, it was my bad.....

It was because auto-exposure was set in the Render Dialog box......

(well, at least it prompted me to upgrade to V-Ray 6 ).....
