Hello,
I have a problem that i would like some assistance if anyone knows or has seen it before. I have googled it and found that probably it relates with vray, that's why i am posting here. I am rendering and Animation of 1450 frames, my workstation is a threadripper 3870x with 32 cores (64 threads) and 126GB of ram. I use latest version of vray 6 and am rendering an animation via a render manager (pulze) although i don't think that plays any role.
I';ve noticed that each frame takes increasingly more time to render. I start with around 8-9 minutes per frame, and after 50-60-100 frames it has gone up to 11 minutes per frame, and it keeps going up and up until i stop it an start it again. Then it magically goes down to its initial time of 8-9 minutes and this happens again. I'm rendering with bucket rendering, and all the settings are unchanged exept light cash is set to animation 3000 (as suggested) brute force main renderer as default and the only thing i change is subdivs 1-100 and noise 0.1. min shade 6 as it is, no filter extra. I haven't messed around a lot with these. I have some color correction going on with cryptomatte in the VFB and that's it. Images get saved locally as TIFF (render channels separate).
I've noticed that the actual rendering of the buckets doesn't take more time, its the buildup of the next frame that gets increasingly more time consuming. As i was searching i found similar problems of people in autodesk forums dating back to 2010-17 and they had this problem due to memory leaks from vray 3.4. Thats why i'm coming here, does anyone have any idea why this might happen? and any idea on how to fix this?
Thank you in advance
