  • GPU IPR gets stuck when altering Chaosscatter attributes.

    So im IPR rendering on GPU, with chaoscatter. If i alter attributes, such as transform scale, or instanced model freq, whilst the IPR is running, it gets stuck in an GPU cache loop. I will try to get a scene, but ive added a link to a video showing the problem.

    The video is quite dull, but mainly because its waiting for the IPR to actually start...and yes thats a passive aggressive remark

    Hello,

    I can't seem to reproduce that in a newly created scene so there might be something else that triggers the problem. Are you additionally using Motion Blur or VRayVelocity render element for instance? It would be quite helpful if you could indeed pack up a scene in which the issue can be observed and send it over to philip.shounev@chaos.com.

          Thanks for the provided scene. I managed to reproduce the issue on my end as well, so it's somewhat related to scatter being used with previous versions and with different source objects. I would suggest as a workaround for now to re-create the scatter object/s from scratch. That approach is supposed to fix the issue according to my tests. Meanwhile our developers will be investigating the exact culprit in search of a possible solution.

            Thanks for the reply, just to let you know, that this was the first time i used chaoscatter for a while, certaintly the first time with 6.1, so i dont know how they were being used with previous versions? Up till then ive been using forest pack.

              Thank you for the additional info. We already have it registered in our internal bug-tracker under VMAX-13140. Could you also share if you can reproduce the IPR loop in some other scenes as well or this is an isolated case with this specific one ?
