Xref objects and vray scenes

I use a reference file where I put my main materials for the housing development, like facades etc. Then I "xref object" those objects (just boxes with materials on them) to each of my house scenes. Then I vrayscene each of those houses (like 5 types) to my main file. It worked great but now I noticed that when I change the colour of the material in material scene it doesn't automatically update the materials in my main scene. Even when I load it. I thought those vrayscenes would always take materials from that file since it's xrefed but I guess once they are exported they are done. Or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you would need to re-export the .vrscene again.
