I can get 3ds Max 2023 (not sure about 2024) to crash every time when I do the following steps:
Step 1: Start in a completely blank scene
Step 2: Switch to V-Ray GPU rendering
Step 3: Turn on Distributed rendering
Step 4: Under Render Element add VRayCryptomatte with ID type of either "Node Material Name" or "Node User Property"
Step 5: Start Interactive Render.
Even though interactive rendering isn't using distributed rendering, having distributed rendering turned ON causes 3ds Max to crash with the Cryptomatte. And it only happens with "Node Material Name" and "Node User Property" IDs. The other ID types work fine. If distributed rendering is OFF then the interactive rendering works just fine. I'm using the latest V-Ray 6.10.08. FYI, regular rendering works fine no matter what.
Can anyone else verify this?
Thanks.
