First press alt + space, and release, then press M, and release, then press any arrow key, release the arrow key, now just move your mouse cursor until it's back on your monitor. The windows should be sticking to your mouse cursor. Then click anywhere where you want to window to be located.

Without moving mouse or doing anything else:
hold Alt
press space
release space
release alt
press m and release
press right arrow and release
move mouse if needed.
FG windows should jump to your cursor. Note that the window needs to be the FG window. So bring it to the front with the View Image button first and don't click anywhere else before the sequence above.
Of course some windows that eat the alt-space don't work (like PuTTY)
Edit: You could also try right-clicking the Task bar in an empty area and choosing Cascade Windows...
Or Shift Right Click on the window in the Task Bar and choose Move. Then tap the right arrow and release. Then move your mouse.Last edited by Joelaff; 19-07-2023, 12:23 PM.

I was able to get this to work. When you click View Image, you have to be quick while picking alt-space-m-arrow. Basically, you have to try and get it while the View Image is green.Bobby Parker

It happens when you accidentally drag it off screen, so it's still there but inaccessible, so that's where the shortcut comes in to move it back, but it can be fiddly.
It can happen also if you were using 2 monitors and switch to just one, with the previous windows still stuck virtually on the disconnected one.
So it's just windows really.

And there is no way to fix it? I drag it back, but the next time it'll be off to the right again. That might have something to do with MAX not saving any settings.Bobby Parker

From what I have read, MAX not saving settings is actually a V-Ray thing.
