Well...maybe it is some incompatibility between simbiont and my shipset
I'm using athlon x2 4400 with an Abit MB
I think the chipset is nforce??...don't understand this tihngs very well...sorry
The fact is that simbiont 6 is the only one working here.
I'll try to install the new 6/7 version in the old pc to see if it works there.

ok, let me put this to sleep once and for all.
The problem you are having has nothing to do with the hardware in your computer or any incompatibilities with that hardware
I can see that you dont understand these things very well so listen to someone who does

I too have a X2 4400 using a DFI motheboard also Nforce4. But that has nothing to do with it.

The problem is something else. Download the lastest simbiont and install that, and make sure you are using the latest vray. And make sure you windows use . instead of , just incase.

Windows XP pro SP2, Latest Vray Build, Max 7, "." as decimal symbol.
Latest simbiont from Darktree site....doesn't work.
Installed max 7 and simbiont (from their site) on a friends pc...don't work neither...although I'm didn't checked decimal symbol.
As far as the total independence of graphics card driver...you're probably right...but remember that cards hardware provide some functions that can be used by software...maybe simbiont uses this.

I just tested the scene here as well. No problems rendering it. I even rendered it with DR, still no problem.

                  RSF:
The video card has no impact on the rendering process what so ever. Put those sort of questiosn and thoughts out of your mind for this problem... please its getting reptitive.
Right well i hadnt install darktree before, i downloaded the latest one from their site and installed it on my max7. Then opened and rendered your scene.. and it rendered fine.

Gimme a moment, i will try it on another PC. That has a completely different video card.

                  <Edit>
Make sure your using this installer.
