  • Black Render

What would cause this? Working fine all day, but BAM! I deleted and replaced the camera, sun system, and reset V-Ray to troubleshoot. Nothing in the scene changed from when it worked and when it broke. Light Cache renders just fine.

Now my VFB will not show up. I reinstalled V-Ray, but it still isn't working. I checked my license and it shows I have one, but nothing in use.

The only thing that changed on my PC is a Autodesk Identity Manager install, from the Desktop Connector app. which installed today.

It seems I got a virus from Autodesk. I had to do a deep scan, uninstall what was installed by AD today, remove V-Ray, and reinstall. Now everything is working.

I deleted my V-Ray Cameras and used a physical one. Now I am back in business. The virus might be a coincidence. I amnot sure why I lost my VFB, so maybe it was't a coincidence.

I do use Sini and use it daily; great software. It was the V-Ray camera, for sure! Once I deleted the V-Ray camera and used a physical camera, everything went back to normal.

Hi, does it happen if you make a new V-Ray camera with the default settings? It's not pure black, so it might be something related to exposure.

I have had the same issue a few times, and I generally restart and flush the ram so to speak.
rest cameras and rest the render setting. I alway think, I have pressed some short cut that is not obvious to me , in max.

I dont know, but nothing was changed on the camera. Using a physical camera solved the issue. The V-Ray camera has become unstable over th past couple of releases/updates so it should have been one of the first things I checked.

Another project, 100% unrelated to the one above, and again the V-Ray camera crashes. Working fine all day and then BAM!

It seems to be a RAM thing. I can drop the resolution in the VFB and it renders (75%). This isn't a very bug scene, but something is draining the RAM. I have both Railclone and Forest Pack Pro in the scene.

Maybe not a RAM thing. I rebuilt the texture and now it is rendering fine. I rebuilt the texture the same way as I did the original one, but now it is working. I am having strange issues with scale. When I collapse a Railclone object to a mesh, the UVW is off. I even reset the XForm, but it doesn't matter. Everything has a 2' UVW, but the Railclone needs a 40' to match.
