  • Textures are rendering with red tint

    Hey,
I'm really confused why I suddenly get render result like this? Geometry on big bricks and front layer of tiles (brick like) are tinted red in the render

All the lights are white (or close to it), bw reflections in the background
At the same time the material of the plaster looks completely fine

Hi, thanks for posting. Please check if you have any VFB layers activated. What are we comparing in the last two images? Viewport IPR and production render?

For the last two images (attachment) they shouldn't be there in the post at all (I thought I deleted them, I'm sorry its just confusing - but shows the same issue, both were renders).

      Viewport looks just fine:

Looks to me like a double gamma.
Try resetting the render settings (switch to scanline and back to v-ray) and see if that clears any such issue.

Alright so what I found out....

If I have material with Vraybitmap - it does this
If I have the same material with regular Bitmap map - it doesn't do this

Somehow it may be related to gamma (because adjusting gamma fixes this, but it only fixes this for those "broken" materials)

It seems that Vraybitmap and regular Bitmap just operate with different gamma settings.

Maybe you can switch that somewhere, but I'm not really sure where?

These are the default settings and with them you should have correct Linear workflow.

Other places where you can control a texture's gamma are here for VRayBtimap
