  • Calculating Hardware accelerated glare with displacement message

    Hi all,

I have a 4k image I'm rendering with displacement on pavements and walls (bricks), I have a little bit of glare left on in the VFB as well.

Now the image renders fine but is incredibly slow to clear the RAM, it ramps up to 80Gb and starts to unload about 25Mb per second then when finished (about 20 minutes) starts to do the Glare and this takes a long time.

    So:

    Render 20 minutes
Ram climbs to 80 Gb size
Then very slowly unloads from RAM down to 30Gb at 25Mb per second (about 20-30 minutes or so).
Then suddenly straight to 1 Gb.
Then I think it starts the Glare and goes from 1 Gb to 1.5 Gb at a rate of 1 Mb for about 10 minutes or so.
Then a sudden jump upto 18 Gb
Then another unloading to 2 Gb and some CPU processing for the Glare process (5 minutes or so).

I usually avoid displacement so it's probably this, pretty sure this never happened so slowly before on previous projects.

    Thanks again,

    Jason
