  • VRayToon appears on objects that are excluded.

Hi guys, I have a scene where only the structures need VRayToon, the particles don't. So I set up the included layers to the structure. Almost everything turned out OK except for a few particles. I tried tweaking all the VRayToon settings, like threshold, bias and such. Nothing works.

Btw, I am using tyFlow particles. Do you think if this is a VRayToon issue or tyFlow issue? (My whole tyFlow setup is in another layer excluded from the VRayToon settings.)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for posting. This is a known issue and is reported under VMAX-11226 in our system. I will add your thread and raise the priority.

Also the issue is discussed here.
What seems to work is including (as object) everything except the tyFlow, however, a script would be necessary to make this list pain-free.
Could you try to convert your particles to mesh for this frame and test to see if the VRayToon will still appear on the bubbles? I will do that in our test later but it will be great if you can test it and share the result.

Thanks, Vlad. I will try to export them and see if it works. I will let you know.

Hi Vlad, I tested by exporting particles to mesh, indeed the render was correct, but this increased our workload a lot. There are also some limitations in tyFlow's export function. So we can't use this approach.

Hope this gets fixed in the foreseeable future. Thank you and your team.
