  • Gi and Lighting elements and AlSurface material

    Hello,
can someone explaint me why Gi and Lighting elements are completely black when sss mix is set to 1 in AlSurface material?
    Thanks

    Hello,

By design the SSS mix data goes to VRaySSS2 render element, so the closer the SSS mix amount goes to the value of 1, the more complete the SSS2 render element becomes.

Yes, this is the expected behavior. GI and lighting use the diffuse component of the materials and the SSS mix on the other hand represents a mix between the diffuse component and the SSS component. So a value of 1 means 100% SSS component.
