  • ID Generator with MultiSubTex Fails Under Standalone, Works in Max

    Please see the attached scene.

Note that in Max this renders with Red, Green, and Blue spheres because each object has a UserScalar set in the User Properties (Object Properties in Max). This works as expected. (Note this is applied to Self Illumination so the scene needs no lights.)

Now export and render in VRayStandalone. All spheres render with the default grey. This is a bug. Note the fact that the third object has the myVal set as an integer vs. as a float like the others makes no difference (was checking if it was a comparison of floats for equality without an epsilon value, but that does not seem to be the issue).

Note as a workaround a VRaySwitchMaterial Does work correctly under Standalone, but of course this is at the material and not the Map level. So it is very sub-optimal.

I am gradually reporting all of these ways in which Standalone is different from Max, and hoping we get these all licked, as rendering under Linux is the way to go...

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks for posting. We have the request for exporting the ID generator option to Standalone / Cloud registered in our internal bug-tracker (ID: VMAX-13951). Our developers are looking into it.
