Vray Blend Materials show Grey

Every time we create simple Vray Blend material, apply it to the object it stays Grey. If we toggle the show material in viewport on and off it finally turns on. Is there an easy way to script this so it just shows so we don't have to manually do this every time we make an update to the material?

We've logged an issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-13974) for developer investigation. Sorry to say, a script won't suffice as a workaround (at least for the "Show realistic material in viewport" option which works on VRayBlendMtls), since there doesn't seem to be an accessible command for it. Manually switching it on works, though.
