  • Proxies don't store vertex normals

    Hi,

I'm not sure if this has already been reported. Vrayproxy meshes do not store vertex normals from the "edit normal" data pipeline. So if you manage to import Vertexnormals (For example with nPower plugins). You can not store them in a vrayproxy.
Here's a CAD object before exort to vraymesh:

And here after export to proxy:

    Anybody else stumbled across this?

      Hi,

this issue is still unresolved. Is this a problem in the vrmesh or just in the export function? I already wrote some plugins for proper handling of vertex normals for our pipeline lately. Perhaps I could help fix this.

      best regards,

      Dieter

The problem is in the export; I'm quite sure I know where it is, just have to get there.

So this is fixed for the next RC (really, this time). If you need this sooner than the official build, please email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com

            Perfect,

now we can use VRayProxies, too. That's worth an extra mug...
