  • White balance VrayPhysicalCamera

Hello, I have a problem. I have a studio and studio lighting with softboxes. I set them to 4500K. I photographed a Chrome ball at ISO100, F9, and a shutter speed of 1/13. I created the same room in 3ds Max, used VrayLight, imported the texture of the softbox, and set it to 4500K. On the Vray camera (VrayPhysicalCamera), I set the ISO, F, and shutter speed.

The problem arises when I set the temperature the same as on the real camera (5500K), then my render is too blue. However, I think it should look more or less identical to the photo, right? Thanks.

    Hi, thanks for posting.
The materials in your virtual scene have to be physically accurate.
All the global illumination in the scene is from light that was reflected from the walls/floor/ceiling.
If they don't reflect exactly the same as the real life ones there might be differences in the lighting.
I don't recall of a practical way to create such materials.
Instead of making the white balance the same for the real life and rendered camera, use it to reduce the difference.
