Glass Issues

Hi,

I've noticed a few things about glass, including that atmospheric effects don't seem to work through glass - see attached. The door is open to the left and the glass on the right prevents the atmospheric effect being seen.
Is there a way to solve this or is it a limitation?

Hello,

Does this happen if your remodel the glass geometry from scratch ? In some rare cases geometries which are imported from CAD might present transparency issues. If the problem still persists after remodeling the window geometry, could you please send an archive of your scene to philip.shounev@chaos.com so we can find out what might be the cause of it ?

Hi Philip,
I did remodel it with a plane and a shell modifier set to 1cm thickness. The material is a V-Ray Material with the Glass preset.
I'll send a copy of the model to you.

Is VRayEnvironmentFog set to affect refractions? Perhaps that got switched off?

Where is that setting, I can't seem to find it?

Here are the check boxes for refraction, reflections, etc. They are enabled by default.

Thank you for providing your scene. There wasn't any atmospheric affect added - could you elaborate the exact workflow that you are using? Are you setting up the scene entirely in 3ds Max or using a link to Vantage where you are adding the atmospherics ?

That was the issue, thanks for everyone's help! My process is to use the Live Link to access Vantage and render using the Render Animation with Chaos Vantage.
