It seems that V-Ray GPU fails to include material LPE tags if those materials are set to use a gbuffer id override.
In the attached scene, this expression works in V-Ray (non-GPU), and it works in V-Ray GPU if I disable the 'Effect ID' toggle on the material 'Red':
