  • Color management issue Max 2025 (OCIO switched off!)

When rendering in Max 2025/Vray 6 update 2.1, I get color management issues when opening my image in Photoshop.

I set color management mode from OCIO to Gamma workflow but the problem still persists.

I found a workaround by importing my scene into a file that was originally created in Max 2024, then the color management is correct (with the same settings as 2025 afaik) - the VFB and Pohtoshop show the same result.

    Am I overlooking a setting in Max/Vray?

Hi, thanks for posting. If you have switched to 3ds Max's ocio colour management and after that to gamma but did not end the 3ds Max session then you colours will not be correct.

Note that the V-Ray colour management settings are automatically switched to ACES but then they are not brought back to RGB.
You have to close 3ds Max or reset your V-Ray settings or manually adjust the colour management settings so they are correct for RGB
