  • Vray Ambient light does not emit any light.

I just got Vray for 3dsmax and Im slowly trying it out. I have an issue. When I put the Vray ambient light it does not emit any light. I tried to move it closer to the geo and I tried with intensity. Nothing works. Need help.

VRayAmbientLights cover the whole scene, moving them won't change anything. Try VRaySphere or VRayPlane lights instead.

You probably have some sort of exposure control set.

Thanks! The sphere and plane lights work fine. No problem. I have looked over exposure control set, but I could not figure out if there was anything wrong. I do not know what the problem is. Vray Ambient light should work but it hasnt. I guess I will have to go with those other lights. At the end I would love to use VAL.

Attach a simple scene so we can troubleshoot.

It works now when I choose the ambient light from the Vray ribbon. I do not know why but it works, and that makes me very happy. Thank you so much for your assistance. Im sure I will have more questions down the road
