  • Vray crash when trying to save Hi-Rez image

    hello,

I'm trying to save an Hi-Rez image in Png at 26,250px x 26,250 px and Vray Crash.

Is it too much MegaPixels for an image?
What is the maximum Megapixels that can be saved in an image.
For rendering there is no problems.

I have two versions of 3ds max 2022 and 2024 and it's the same issue.
I have the latest version of vray 6 update 2.1 in both software.

    Thanks

Thanks for the report. I've logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-14318 ) for dev investigation. Not sure what the current limit is, however, saving a 17k x 17k image seems to work.
Usually, for large images it's better to use formats such as .exr and .vrimg, since the info can be stored gradually. Check this article in the documentation for more info.

I would also add that saving such an output strongly depends on the amount of RAM which for this particular case should be no less than 40 GB.
