  • Not Showing Direct Light in Render to texture

    Hi, everybody.

We are working on a Real time rendering engine and we are using Vray lightmaps. I show u an image of an scene.

We have a problem but we don't really know what is causing it.
This scene you are seeing now has 7 vray lights and a direct light. We are using our own bake tool to extrat the lightmaps (3 channels: RawGI, RawLight and we generate another one for overbright zones).

When rendering the lightmaps, the RawLight was always black. After testing it for a lot of days we discovered that checking store with irr. map in every vraylight allowed the directlight to generate correcty the RawLIght lightmap. I post 3 images of the lightmaps

this is the direct light correct (not black) with irr map checked

    this is the GI

and this is the result without overbright

Now the question... we're working in another map. We render again the lightmaps, but the direct light channel is again BLACK! and we've checked the store with irr. map. If we extract the RBC Color channel it's correct, and if we make a normal render we can see the shadows droped on the objects, but VFB doesn't extract the direct light and we don't know why. We've been checking and unchecking everything.. but... shadows are not there.. only GI.

    Any idea?

    thanks!

don't know... vlado, do u need the max file or something? do u know why vray is not rendering the direct light channel?

    thx

Yes, if you can provide a .max file we will probably be able to find your problem.

      Best regards,
      Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
