  • Vray Physical Camera Playback Stutter

    Hi all,

Has this ever been resolved? I can only get camera playback to work ok by unclicking the tilt & shift auto verts.

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hi, thanks for posting.
I can only get camera playback to work ok by unclicking the tilt & shift auto verts.
Could you explain your issue in a bit more details? If possible please send us a video with the issue.
I am not able to reproduce an issue in a simple scene, using 3ds Max 2024 and V-Ray 6 update 2.1

This issue has come up a few times, I think I found the problem and solution looking through another forum, have you tried opening a large scene vladimir_krastev ?

      Thanks,

      Jason

Hi, thanks for the video. I only tested it in a very simple scene with a box and a camera. In your example. What if you move the time slider much slower? This seems more like a lag in the viewport preview than anything else.

Yep, you won't ever get any problems with simple scenes. Moving the slider slower makes no difference, I can only guess the auto vert correction is different every frame and it's too much for the 3dsmax core to handle..? Even when I hide everything and just have a few objects on, it still does it, very very strange.

Meanwhile I will check if this is an issue with the VRayPhysicalCamera or 3ds Max related.

Thanks vladimir_krastev, when my current animation finishes I'll do this.

Could I check something seperately with you?, Currently I am rendering a scene of 4650 frames with livelink, now, what I get is the frame rendered in 30 seconds at 2k, I then get a 30 second frame transfer, there are no animated meshes in the scene, is this normal for livelink to be so slow with large scenes? My scene uses 24 GB of Vram (48 GB available on my system). Also, what I'm getting is stuck frame syndrome, so Vantage renders say 300 frames and then gets stuck at frame 301 and renders all frames after 300 as the frame 301......

About a year ago I had a similar heavy scene (different project), this scene had animated meshes, Anima, fountains & a waterfall, I managed to get this to work fairly seamlessly with a few workarounds (with Anima), I found sending the best process was to send the Export and send the current animation range to Vanatge button, this now doesn't work anywhere near as well as now with the transfer process slowing down so much as to make it unusable.

I appreciate these are two different scenes but the latest scene I've done a fair bit of pruning and also I've reduced map sizes, imported the file into a new blank file numerous times, importantly I've removed all animated meshes, checked all Forest Pack camera clips.

I can try to package this scene and send to you but, I'm wondering you might have some current tips that could explain this issue?

              Super thanks as always

              Jason

Hi Jason, you've done a lot of testing yourself. It seems you've covered most of the common challenges with heavy scenes and Live Link. Please send the scene for review here or open a ticket. Please paste the ticket number here for faster tracking.
