    Hello Chaos community,

    I'm looking for some help on an issue I've noticed on the Chaos scatter objects in the scene after rendering, there is strong flickering/dancing on the grass and pebble scatter areas between every frame.

    I've attached a video file of the 32 frames as well as screenshots of the current render settings. Would anyone have any advice or tips on how to prevent or lesser this flickering between frames?

    Hi, thanks for posting.
    You could try a few things with the render settings:
    - increase the image sampler's min. subdivs to 2
    - enable the "lock noise pattern" checker
    - use a softer image filter

    Are you using a denoiser? If you do then please try the Denoiser Tool
    It denoises the animation not just frame by frame but you could blend neighbouring frames.

    Blending frames could help with flickering.

      Hi Vladimir, thanks for the rendering tips. I figured out the root cause of the issue. I had camera clipping enabled on the chaos scatter and with every frame the camera moves this causes the diffuse material to change slightly causing a dancing/flickering effect on the objects in view. With the camera clipping box unticked the issue was resolved although this then caused very long rendering as it took a while to upload all the object instances within the scene?

        Why would the diffuse change? Do you have some randomisation of the diffuse by instance? You could limit the scatter using splines instead of camera clipping (docs page about areas).
