I Updated to latest nightly, but nothing changed; it's still not rendering correctly. I wish that mankind could build a computer that computes correctly some day.

I wonder if it's possible to test this with V-Ray 6. I think I can upgrade to V-Ray 6 if this works, but I want to try this first. Would it be possible?

You could use a 30 days trial version. The other way is to archive and send me the scene so I can test it for you.

            Thanks,

I just rebuilt the scene, but it's still not working. The clipper object moves whenever the camera is moving. Is there any progress at your end?

I installed the evaluation version of V-Ray 6. After hundred or so frames, the rendering looks OK. Is there anything, I should do to convert V-Ray 5 scene to V-ray 6?

V-Ray 6 seems to be rendering fine in the main workstation, however the Backburner server says "Could not read V-Ray Environment variable "VRAY_FOR_3DSMAX_MAIN", and shuts down. What should I do?

There should not be any issues with going to a newer version. There may be slight differences in the look of the final render. If you notice something like that and you are not happy with it please share with examples and more details.

Please reinstall your V-Ray. The trial version has only one license so you will not be able to render with more that one PC at the same time.

I'm not sure, if I understood. I have V-Ray 5 perpetual license. So what does the reinstall stands for? Anyway everything is working, but I can render only with one server at the time. Does this mean that I need to purchase the license in order to use rest of my servers?

The error you quoted points towards issues with the installation. With your last post I am a bit confused. If you send a scene from V-Ray 5 for network rendering the server that starts it should be with installed V-Ray 5 as well.

                        Thanks,

I posted the scene by using 3DSMax with V-Ray 6 evaluation version. When I installed the V-Ray 6 Eval, V-Ray 5 disappeared from my system. So my question is, that if I need to upgrade to V-Ray 6 in order to finish the ongoing project, do I need to purchase the license first. I currently have only V-Ray 5 perpetual license.

I have been trying to upgrade my V-Ray 5 perpetual license to V-Ray 6. It's has not been made easy to buy one. I'll keep trying.

So, I got now the V-Ray 6 license up and running. So far I haven't found anything else difference between V-Ray 5 and V-Ray 6. Of course the clipper is working now fine.

Edit: I noticed nVidia AI denoiser is somewhat better than the default V-Ray denoiser.
