  • Strange DR render node beaviour.

    Hi!

Today I bought a new computer to use as an additional DR render node. The new computer renders fine in DR mode except that it does not create new buckets untill all its other buckets are finsihed. I have never seen this behaviour before and none of my other DR nodes do this. Have I missed something?
    Thanks!
edit: Also CPU utilisation is on average 10% with 25% of RAM being used, 1% disk and 1% network, so I don't think there is a bottleneck in the computer specs.

    Hi again!
Problem solved! I took a chance and replaced the network card and now it works perfectly. Quite strange but I'm just glad it worked. Thanks for your assistance

Hi thanks for posting. Are you using V-Ray CPU or GPU and what are your V-Ray and 3ds Max versions? Do you notice the same low utilisation in a new simple scene. For example build a scene with a few hundred boxes (don't use scatter or forest pack) and high resolution and image sampler settings so it renders slow. Please add only the computer you've had issues with to the render nodes list and render the simple scene with DR and let us know how it goes.

I am using V-Ray CPU and my Max version is 2020 and V-Ray is 6. I made a new simple scene but the result is the same. I uploaded an unlisted video to youtube showing the problem.

Thanks for the video. Could you try to connect it to another network slot in place of a working node? Before doing so please make sure the new computer renders correctly in a local render - utilizes the CPU to a 100% etc. and then continue with the DR troubleshooting.
