  • Cannot receive asset Error

    Can someone please help me understand what is happening with this error. I"m rendering a scene with a few distributed renderers, and I'm getting a bunch of errors like this:

    [14:51:38.794] Server 192.168.35.3:20204: Cannot receive asset Z:\Shared\Library\300 Documents\300 Visualization & Renderings\3D Assets\Chaos\Packages\Materials\Concretes\Concrete _Flooring_J01_200cm_14e06973\14e06973_Refl_4k_srgb .tx Error creating file C:\Windows\TEMP\vray_assets_cache/20204_6e419065e61843a8f5f9df355343f0dd_14e06973_Re fl_4k_srgb.tx : [PFileStream::Create] 1224: (1224) The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

    [RenderServer::getStream]

    [14:51:38.795] Server 192.168.35.3:20204: Asset "Z:\Shared\Library\300 Documents\300 Visualization & Renderings\3D Assets\Chaos\Packages\Materials\Concretes\Concrete _Flooring_J01_200cm_14e06973\14e06973_Refl_4k_srgb .tx" was not received.

    If I click the Used cached assets check box distributed render settings I can sometime get some of the render servers picking up, but not always, and not always the same ones.

    Hi, thanks for posting. It seems like you keep the transfer missing assets checkeron. This is used as a backup whenever a render node can not find an asset directly through the network. Check the network path for any inconsistencies or issues. The path (Z:\Shared\Library\...) should be correctly mapped on all render nodes. If the path is mapped differently on different machines, consider using a UNC path (e.g., \\server\share\...) instead of a mapped drive letter, which can vary between systems.
    Have you tried to render the scene directly on the render nodes without using distributed rendering? Do you have issue only in this scene or in others as well?
    Make sure you are using the same versions of V-Ray and Spawner on all of your render nodes.
