  • No Phoenix Foam/Bubbles in Vray7 CPU, bad bubbles in Vray7 GPU render

    Hi everybody,
Since switching to Vray7, my PhoenixFD bubbles in CPU rendering have disappeared, see pictures. In the GPU version they are there, but as bad as ever. I have been waiting for a solution to the PhoenixFD foam problem in GPU rendering for 2 years now. Several requests here have been answered with we are working on it. Thanks Tom

    Hey Tom,
Sorry this is no help but I had the same issue as you did. Same error showed up. Only had Vray7 installed for 1min before removing it and downgrading to Vray6. Seems to always be an issue with Vray updates these days where updates create more issues than solutions

      Hey Tom,

If you're using V-Ray 7 you will need a compatible Phoenix build. Currently these are only in the nightly builds, but official builds are coming soon as well.
You can get a Phoenix nightly build from here (just make sure the phoenix installer has vray7 in the name) - https://nightlies.chaos.com/main#/phoenix5max/nightly

Hey Georgi, thanks a lot works. The foam shader is still not compatible with the GPU renderer. Do you know if this will change someday?

For the GPU rendering - it's in the to do list, but I'm afraid I can't give any specific timeframe when this will happen as it is not a trivial task.
