Installing VRAY 7 messes up, saving my toolbars. I know this has been an issue with VRAY in the past, and it persists. After installing, VRAY 7 removes my layer palette and placed a toolbar on the side that I had undocked 100 times.

I know it sounds banal, but have you tried to restore the 3ds Max settings to their default by renaming the ENU folder?

No, that is AD's recommendation for everything. It resets all the toolbars I have set up that do work.

Has this happened on any other workstations you've owned aside from your current machine? Personally I'm certain it's a user permissions issue; Max isn't able to write to certain UI settings files somewhere on your machine. I've seen this before first-hand.

I only have one machine, but it happened on other machines I previously had. I had it working, installed VRay 7, and back to the issue. It is either a V-Ray thing or a Railclone/Forest thing.
