  • Vray 7.1 - Frame Buffer not saving all my VFB adjustments

    Hello again,
    Running into a issue.
I am trying to save an animation out thru normal vray settings and it seems that its not applying my VFB adjustments even though I want to say it should. What am I doing wrong?
When I save manually its great, when I let vray save it auto it does not. This is quite an inconvinence for trusting using VFB for any adjustments..

Did some more testing. Found the issue. Looks like the Denoiser layer which is key to all my animations is not taking the color corrects and such in account when saving. Is this normal or an issue? Currently this will certianly make the perk of color grading and such in VFB useless since I depend on Denoiser for faster render times for all my jobs.

I just tested this. If "Save VFB color corrections to render channels" the CCs should be saved in the VRayDenoiser element. Otherwise, the RGB_color channel equals origRGB plus all effects (denoiser, lens effects) and CCs and can be used instead.

Hi Hermit. yes I did see that the RGB has it saved, however I do not wish to take the glare into the master render, thats why the denoiser render pass is key to me. Did you see the denoiser layer on your end and how it saved out? I will do another test after a few client calls this morning and post my results, yest I did a quick test with a teapot and did a sevear color change just to see results and it did not work on denoiser layer. But I will try again.

Heyy Hermit! So I found the issue,
If I create a folder with adjustments inside and then use an cryptomatt to mask it out, then the denoiser does not save out. Attaching my test file so you can see the issue. If I do a mask on just a adjustment it does work just fine. So the folder is the issue.

Thank you for narrowing it down. I've logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-14672). Basically, adjustments that are in folders are not saved in the render channels (when the "Save VFB color corrections to render elements" is active). The workaround is, obviously, to move the adjustment out of the folder.

Just want to chime in I also experienced this issue right now. As I have a ton of CC in folders, the proposed workaround isn't very feasible, so bump for a fix please. Thanks.

I just tested the latest nightly and the issue seems to be fixed.
