  • Vray 7 Brute Force Issues

    Hi All

First post i think ever as i've been able to solve all issues for years but this one has us completely baffled ! . . . so i hope i explain this correctly

I have a large Max 2021 Vray 6 scene that rendered an 1800 frame animation using BF (with denoiser applied to final RGB) perfectly, but when i took this scene into Max 2025 Vray 7 any BF outputs (with or without denoiser) i run is not saving the lightcache (see test image) for both EXRs and JPGs.

But when i render the same scene/camera/environment using IR + LC the EXR + JPEG images save perfectly.

When it renders using BF the buckets show the prepass lighting (see the attached progress test) but soon as it starts to render all lighting highlights disappears ! . . . it doesnt make sense as it render pefectly using IR + LC but not BF + LC ? ! ?

Can anyone explain why there is a difference and am sure its easy to fix but i am just not seeing how to do it ?

    I've also tried

    1. Rendering in max (no frame buffer)
    2. Trying different color mapping
    3. Trying different environment exposure controls - auto + vray + physical cam
    4. Making GI both BF + BF
    5. Turning off denoiser
    6. Using different workstations
    7. Trying different image filters

None of these change the rendered image to what is should be

Best you send the scene so we can troubleshoot.
